The end of a season has definitely been on my mind as we are leaving China so soon. Endings are a natural time of reflection, and the subject of creativity has been on my mind a lot. A few years ago, if you had asked me if I was creative I would have said no. I (still) can’t draw/paint/do things I once considered the bread and butter of an artistic person. But I do like to diy and repurpose and write– so these days, I would definitely identify as creative, which makes me think about the next phase for our blog.
While you won’t be getting any more China travel posts like Inner Mongolia, A Tropical Chinese Paradise, or Zhangjiajie National Park I think we will keep travelling. Whether it’s city guides or backpacking itineraries, travel posts will keep coming because food and beautiful sights are near the top of our list of favorite things.
Additionally, I’d like to get into more interior design and cooking posts. We’re eagerly anticipating moving into a new Birmingham apartment that has more than a hot plate so keep your ears and eyes peeled.
Finally, I’d like to work more on my photography to make pics look better/ more professional. Currently what you see on the blog are iPhone pictures edited with the iPhone Photoshop Express app. I just started a trial of Lightroom so maybe this will help my photos look a bit better.
Obvious improvement from unedited version, but not convinced it’s a huge step up from Photoshop Express for iPhone… maybe the photo quality is higher? I still have so much to learn.
So to recap– more DIY and cooking, ongoing travel and hopefully improved photos–that’s what I’m seeing for the future of the blog. If anyone has any other ideas or knows of some great beginner’s guides to Lightroom, I’m all ears. Just leave a comment and I’ll check it out!
